The Goggi Africa Safari teamCombine your beach holiday with a short but unforgettable wildlife adventure. The safari starts with a domestic flight from Zanzibar to Arusha and visits two of Tanzania’s most rewarding places: Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees and big elephant herds, and the Ngorongoro Crater, a huge volcanic caldera full of wildlife.
June to October (the dry season) is the best time for wildlife; January and February bring green scenery. Your safari runs in a private 4×4 with a pop-up roof and an English-speaking guide.
Your guide meets you in Arusha — or you take a short morning flight from Zanzibar. Drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drive among baobab trees and large herds of elephants. In the evening, continue to Karatu for dinner and your night at the lodge.
After an early breakfast, descend about 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Spend the morning watching lions, buffalo, elephants, hippos and — with luck — the rare black rhino. Your safari ends after the game drive with your transfer back.
